CareLift Equipment has been designing and making excellent rough terrain forklifts ever since the year 1962. Every day the company strives to help their consumers reach their goals and deliver value because they know the bottom line is reliability and performance.
Boom lifts come in 2 general types, the articulated boom lift and straight boom lift. These units are usually hydraulically powered. Most often straight booms are the ideal alternative for jobs which require a high reach with no obstructions. The turntable on the machine is capable of rotating three hundred sixty degrees with an extendable boom. This extendable boom can be raised vertically to below horizontal. Because the operator can steer and maneuver the vehicle while the boom is completely extended, it is a versatile equipment. These units are available in diesel, propane or gas configurations as well as 4 wheel drive and 2 wheel drive.
Articulated boom lifts are used for lifting loads up and over obstacles and gain access to areas which were otherwise unaccessible. These lift units carry out tasks which straight telescopic booms cannot complete. These lifts are almost identical to the straight boom lift in most aspects except in the boom's ability to articulate. There are various articulation points on the boom in order to enable it to bend in a variety of different directions allowing it to move easily around any objects within the work environment.
In order to maintain stability while the boom lift is completely extended, several heavy-duty boom lifts come outfitted with outriggers. The outriggers provide the operator with some extra safety and confidence. Proper training is required before operating boom lifts in order to ensure the operator, the jobsite and everyone working in the vicinity stays safe.
Boom lifts enable jobs that used to require many more man hours to be completed in a much shorter time period. These machines have really increased production and have changed the material handling business.
