Change an LPG Cylinder
There are various kinds of sources which could power forklifts. They can run from LP gas or liquid propane, gasoline, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for many uses. There are various facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they require. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which can be changed out when the equipment should be refueled.
In order to prevent possible serious injury, specific safety measures must be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for example: be sure to wear the appropriate safety equipment such as safety glasses or goggles and heavy gloves. Make certain that you turned off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is firmly closed. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never use any type of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened only by using the hand.
