Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck which is essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Walkie" models and "Rider" versions.
Like what the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit while they transport loads. The Rider model on the other hand, uses a small platform wherein the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of loads over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are extremely maneuverable and fast.
It is essential to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and hence, it is not recommended to move tall or unstable loads utilizing these machinery. A rider could be the right answer if you are looking for an inexpensive method for transporting loads from one location to another. If though, you are required to move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the right option.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This equipment is specifically designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load in an effort to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are typically very narrow aisle vehicles which could function in aisles of less than six feet. They are really handy pieces of equipment in physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more popular.
