Telescopic lift trucks
Telescopic forklift units are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm which extends over the top of the truck providing great height and versatility. The crane, or arm, is called a telescopic boom. The boom allows the operator to maintain a high degree of control while raising the cargo to great heights. Standard lift trucks aren't able to move the load towards and away from the forklift cab, whereas a telescopic forklift could allow that movement. The telescopic forklift is commonly used in construction and agriculture. It is better for applications where greater lift and control is necessary.
In situations requiring high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments known as forklift carton clamp attachments are better. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings which allow the operator to utilize uniform clamping force when lifting a load. It comes with a backrest that protects the loads from damage.
A sleep sheet lift truck would usually use a slip sheet attachment for storing systems that don't use pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This type of system is handy for overseas shipments and intra-corporate deliveries.
A man basket is a lift platform designed specially to raise workers. The basket attaches to the forklift forks, held in with a chain or strap that is to be secured directly to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the personnel from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are used for fastening the worker's safety harness.
