Forklift Tire Specs
Since 1917, essential tools used within commercial businesses and industry are forklifts. During its history the forklift has evolved through different kinds, from a tractor with a platform attachment to a specialized high-tech machinery. Forklift tires have also evolved into specialized tires, with different kinds designed to meet particular functions.
Cushion (Solid) Tires
Rubber or solid polyurethane are the types of materials used to construct cushion tires. They are best for indoor applications on surfaces which are smooth. The tread of a cushion tire is bonded or pressed onto the steel ring of the tire. Cushion tires are rated ease of steering and for different load capacities. Cushion tires are commonly utilized within warehouse settings.
Pneumatic Tires
Foam or air is utilized to fill pneumatic forklift tires. They come in two types: bias or radial. Depending upon the application, they are offered with various sidewall protection, tread depths and weight. Foam-filled pneumatic forklift tires maintain constant pressures and are less prone to punctures. Pneumatic tires are normally used outdoors on surfaces which are rough and uneven.
Pneumatic Shaped Solid/Solid Pneumatic
The comfortable ride that pneumatic tires provide together with the puncture resistance that solid tires provide are the combined features of Solid Pneumatic Hybrid Tires. They are a great option to the outdoor pneumatic tire.
Large Rubber and Flotation Tires
Large rubber tires, which can be solid, pneumatic or foam, are used on wheel loader forklifts. These tires are suitable for loading and moving heavy objects into processing equipment or onto trucks. Large flotation pneumatic tires are suited for masted rough terrain forklifts commonly utilized at auto recyclers, lumberyards and construction locations.
