Reach Truck
To be able to keep storage places tidy and to pile up supplies and pallets of goods, a reach truck could be used. The reach truck is available in quite a few models: the double-deep reach, straddle reach and the stand-up reach.
The most basic type is the stand-up. The forks of the truck slide under the pallet and move it to the right storage place. The forks slide the pallet into position. This type of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are one pallet in depth.
Ideal for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to accommodate two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, that is similar to the stand-up, is commonly used. This model has telescopic forks designed to put the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This eliminates the need to push the pallet back when another pallet needs to go into the same shelving section.
Straddle reaches have the added advantage of being able to not just slide under the pallet, but also to grasp the sides. These are recommended for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in multiple directions. This particular model is ideal in conditions where goods would not be damaged if the pallet sides are grabbed.
Inside the majority of warehouses, there are normally more than one kind of reach truck. Textile firms and manufacturing facilities utilize various types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not difficult to utilize and could make the most of available storage space while increasing productivity.
